Santa’s 17th Annual Tour of Hollywood!!!

It’s that time of year again!  Old St. Nick will be arriving at the Hollywood Volunteer Fire House on Sunday, November 28th for our Annual Children’s Christmas Party and Tree Lighting.  Starting on the Friday after his arrival, Santa will be touring our community spreading his Christmas cheer!  Santa’s Elves have sent Santa’s itinerary to the fire house so that we can spread the word to all the fine folks of Hollywood, MD!! 

Friday, December 3rd - Sandy Bottom Road and St. John’s Road.  Broad Creek/Twin Ponds will be included on this visit.

Saturday, December 4th - Mervell Dean Road, from Airport Rd to and including Clarke’s Landing Road.  This also includes Clarks Mill Rd.

Sunday, December 5th - Ricky Drive, Clover Hill Road, and McIntosh Road.

Friday, December 10th - Joy Lane, Pappy’s Way, Hugh Drive, Jones Wharf Road, and Hollywood Shores.

Saturday, December 11th - Mervell Dean Road, from Joy Chapel Road north to Rt. 235, and Old Three Notch Road.  This includes Joy Chapel Road. 

Sunday, December 12th - Chaffee Court, Reed Court, Loveville Road, and Mar-a-Lee Drive.

Friday, December 17th - North and South Sandgates Road.

Saturday, December 18th - Hollywood Road, Sotterley Road, and Vista Road.


The roads listed above are the main travel roads in the area.  We will be visiting most of the larger roads, off the roads listed above.  Santa’s Tours will begin around 5:00 each evening and will last until approximately 8:00.  Listen for our sirens for a heads up!  If it rains or snows we will make that night up before Christmas.  Please check www.hvfd7.com and Facebook for information if that were to happen.  Just a note to parents:  The crews will remain in service each night.  This means that if we get a call for service, we will have to respond.  But don’t worry! Just after 0630 hours Sunday, 21 November 2021, Engine 7 and Tanker 7 were dispatched to the 44800 block of St. Andrews Church Road at the County Landfill for a garbage trailer smoking. Tanker 74 and Engine 73 responded shortly after dispatch with 8 Volunteers. Tanker 74 arrived on the scene to find the rear of the trailer smoking. Hollywood VFD Participate In “High-Risk Low-Frequency” Training Scenario

On Tuesday evening 16 November 2021, members drilled on one of our “high-risk low-frequency” scenarios, taken right out of recent local response history: Hunter In A Tree Stand/Tree.

This nearly same scenario occurred locally last year- hunter fallen from compromised tree stand, suspended upside down, well away from vehicle access.

Hollywood VFD Responds To Working Building Fire In 1st Due

At approximately 2130 hours Friday, 12 November 2021, Station 7 was alerted to the 26500 block of Loveville Road for the building fire. Engine 72, Truck 7, Tanker 74, Rescue Squad 7, Safety 7 (Insley), Chief 7 (Brady) and Chief 7B (Rector) responded shortly after dispatch with 20 Volunteers.
