The Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department is looking for Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians, and anyone who wants to be part of the biggest family around!

Qualifications to become a member:

At least 16 years of age to join as a Probationary Member

Cadet Program for ages 12 - 15

Complete application including full Criminal Background Check

Complete Pre-Basic In-House Training

Complete Firefighter I within 12 months

Attend monthly Business Meetings and Drills as well as working the Annual Carnival

No prior training required!

Benefits of joining HVFD:

Training is completely free (incuding textbooks): All Firefighting, Rescue, and Emergency Medical training is paid for by the department and some courses will give transferable college credits

All members are eligible to be awarded college scholarships offered by the County and State

All members are eligible for retirement (Length of Service Award Program) after 20 years of service

All members receive a $4,000 Maryland State tax deduction

Many members have utilized the free training and networking opporunities to obtain successful careers
