At approximately 2110 hours Sunday, 4 September 2023, Truck 7 and Tanker 7 were dispatched to the 41200 block of New Market Turner Road for a reported House Fire. Truck 7, Tanker 74, and Chief 7A (Rector) responded shortly after dispatch with 11 Volunteers. While Units were responding, Communications advised of a possible person trapped inside the house and the location of the potential trapped occupant. Units from Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department, INC. arrived on location finding a one story, single family home, with smoke showing. The Engine crew found a fire in the kitchen and started extinguishing the same. Truck 7 arrived and positioned on side A with the crew immediately going to work, throwing ladders and conducting a search. The crew completed a primary search that proved negative. While searching, crews found an additional fire in a bedroom on side A and extinguished this area also. Tanker 74 arrived on location and supplied the fire ground while the crew assisted with opening up. A secondary search was completed with negative results and the fire was placed under control within 20 minutes. Command scaled the assignment back to the Units from Station 2 and Truck 7, who remained on the scene performing overhaul. Truck 7 remained on the scene for 30 minutes before clearing and returning to quarters. Chief 2 held the Mechanicsville Command. The fire is being investigated by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office. No injuries were reported during this incident.
While Units from Hollywood were operating on this house, Rescue Squad 7 responded to a collision with one overturned at the intersection of Three Notch Road and Hollywood Road. The Rescue Squad found a two vehicle collision with one overturned and all occupants out of the vehicle. Two patients were transported to a Trauma Center by MSP Trooper 7. Rescue Squad 7 returned to quarters shortly after.
