By Past Chief Charles Miedzinski (CP)
February 6, 2023

At approximately 2040 hours Sunday, 5 February 2023, Station 7 was dispatched to the 26600 block of Alexandra Way for the report of a Garage on Fire. Engine 73, Tanker 74, Truck 7, Rescue Squad 7, Chief 7A (Rector) and Chief 7B (Tatum) responded with 20 Volunteers shortly after dispatch. Due to this Structure being nearly 2 miles off the road, Chief 7B (Tatum) requested Engine 73, Tanker 74, and Truck 7 to the scene, with the rest to stage on Three Notch Road. Safety 7 (D. Insley) was first to arrive finding a 25x25 work shop with fire throughout. Chief 7B (Tatum) arrived on the scene and established the Hollywood Command. Engine 73 arrived and deployed an attack line on the structure. Tanker 74 was next to arrive with the crew stretching a 2nd line and the Tanker supplying water to Engine 73. Truck 7 arrived on the scene and assisted the Engine Companies operating. The fire was brought under control in 20 minutes and the assignment was scaled back to the Units from Station 7 and 2 Tankers. The Units from Hollywood remained on the scene for over an hour performing overhaul and hitting hot spots. The State FM's were requested to respond to the scene for the investigation. The Volunteers from Hollywood returned to service and quarters at 2224 hours.
