Hollywood VFD Responds To Serious Motor Vehicle Accident In First-Due

At approximately 1030 hours Friday, 6 August 2021, Station 7 was dispatched to Loveville Road in the area of Three Notch Road in Oakville for a collision. Rescue Squad 7, Tanker 74, Chief 7B (Rector) and Chief 7A (Rogers) responded shortly after dispatch with 8 Volunteers. While responding, the assignment was upgraded to a report of a person trapped adding Rescue Squad 2 and ALS to the call. Units arrived on location to find a single vehicle in the roadway with one pinned. Crews immediately went to work stabilizing the vehicle and started the extrication utilizing the HURST Jaws of Life. A total of 2 patients were found with one being a priority 1 trauma and the second being a priority 2 trauma. Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department, INC. Rescue Squad 2 arrived and assisted with the extrication. MSP Aviation was requested to handle the transport to a Trauma Center. Engine 72 and Tanker 24 handled the Landing Zone at a near by school. The patient was extricated from the vehicle in 10 minutes and turned over to EMS. One patient was transported by ground to St. Mary's Hospital and the second patient was transported by MSP Aviation to the Trauma Center. The scene was turned over to the County Sheriff's Department for the investigation. Units cleared the scene and returned to quarters at 1130 hours. Chief 7A (Rogers) held the Command and Chief 7B (Rector) had the extrication group supervisor.
