Hollywood VFD Responds to Structure Fire in Brenton Bay

At approximately 0630 hours Sunday, 10 January 2021, Engine 7 and Tanker 74 were dispatched to the 41300 block of Philip Lane in Breton Bay for the reported house fire. Engine 73, Tanker 74, Chief 7A (Rogers) and Chief 7B (Rector) responded with 14 Volunteers shortly after dispatch. Chief 1 (Bell) was first to arrive finding a 2 story single family home with fire showing on all sides and both floors. Engine 73 arrived and picked up the supply line. The crew proceeded to the scene and assisted with fire attack, protecting the exposure on the Bravo side of the structure. Tanker 74 arrived on location and assisted with water supply. The crew of Tanker 74 assisted with fire attack, operating on the Alpha and Bravo side of the structure. Chief 7A (Rogers) and Chief 7B (Rector) assisted with supervising the units during the fire attack. Crews operated numerous handlines, the wagon pipe, and the ladder pipe to extinguish this fire. Along with numerous Tankers operating in a Tanker shuttle, Boat 5 was added to the call and was utilized as the primary water supply once it was set up. The Units from Station 7 remained on the scene and assisted with hitting hot spots before picking up and returning to service. The units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 1000 hours. Tanker 74 was involved in the Tanker Shuttle and Shuttled approximately 12,000 gal. of water to the scene during the incident. All occupants were accounted for and uninjured during the incident. One family pet did succumbed to injuries at the fire. Chief 1 (Bell) held the Breton Bay Command. The State FMs office are handling the fire investigation.
