Just prior to noon on Wednesday, 6 January 2021, Engine 7 was dispatched Mutual Aid to Calvert County at the 13800 block of South Solomons Island Road for a small building fire. Engine 73 and Chief 7B (Rector) responded at dispatch with 5 Volunteers. First arriving units from Solomons VFD&RS reported a 15x25 covience building with smoke showing. Engine 73 arrived and picked up Solomons Engine 31 supply line. The crew stretched an attack line into the building and assisted with fire attack. The fire was knocked within minutes and Command operated with Solomons, Hollywood, NDW / NAS Pax River, St. Leonard, and Bay District. Once overhaul was completed, Engine 73 was released from the scene and returned to quarters. Investigators from NDW / NAS Patuxent River are handling the investigation. St. Leonard Safety 7A held the Command.
