November 22, 2013

At 2224 hours Station 7, Rescue Squad 2, EMS Station 79, EMS Station 29, and the Medic unit were dispatched to Three Notch Road in the area of Clover Hill Road for a Motor Vehicle Accident with entrapment. Rescue Squad 7, Engine 73, and Chief 7 responded with 10 volunteers. Chief 7 was first to arrive confirming a vehicle overturned with "Heavy Entrapment" and establishing the Hollywood Command. Rescue Squad 7 and Engine 73 arrived on the scene a short time later and the crews went to work stabilizing the vehicle and starting the extrication on the trapped occupant. Rescue Squad 2 arrived moments later and both Rescue Companies worked together utilizing the HURST Rescue Tools to extricate the trapped occupant. The extrication was completed within 12 minutes of the arrival of the Rescue units and the patient was turned over to EMS. The patient was evaluated and determined to be a Priority 1 Category A Trauma and was transported to the Trauma center by MSP Aviation Trooper 7. Engine 72 handled the Landing Zone at the scene. Rescue Squad 7 remained on the scene and assisted the Police units with lighting before returning to quarters at 0007 hours.
