By Captain Bryan Riley
February 22, 2008

At 0842 hours Station 7, EMS Station 79 (Hollywood), and EMS Station 39 (Lexington Park) were dispatched to the intersection of Three Notch Road and Airport View Drive in Hollywood for a Motor Vehicle Accident. Rescue Squad 7, Engine 72, and Chief 7B responded with 11 volunteers. While enroute, St Mary's Communications advised they were adding ALS for now report of one ejected. The units from Station 7 arrived at 0846 hours to find a two vehicle, T-Bone style collision with one ejected. The crew from the Squad and Engine immediately began patient care for all three patients. Due to the Troopers being down because of weather, the flight medic went to the scene to assist with the patient who was ejected. It was found that the patient was a Priority one Trauma and would need a Trauma Center for his injuries. Ambulance 397 departed for Prince Georges Trauma Center with the flight medic aboard transporting a Priority 1 patient. Ambulance 799 and Ambulance 399 transported 2 priority 3 patients to St Mary's Hospital. While enroute to Prince Georges Hospital Ambulance 397 diverted to Civista Medical Center in LaPlata because of the Patients Status. While at Civista Medical Center the patient who was ejected from the vehicle succumbed to his injuries. Chief 7B held the Hollywood command and units returned to quarters at 0924 hours.

The officers and members of Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department wish to send our condolences to the family and friends of the victim in this accident.
