At 1335 hours St. Mary's County Emergency Communications dispatched Companies 9 and 7 to Calvert County for a reported stove fire. Engine 74(LT Sweeney) responded promptly with a total of 4 volunteers to 4136 Lighthouse Blvd. Solomon's Fire Chief arrived on location with smoke showing. Units for Solomons VFDRS attacked the fire and were checking for extension when Calvert County Squad 7(St. Leonard) advised they had been involved in a Motor Vehicle Collision at Route 4 and Cove Point Rd. Engine 74 was approaching the scene and advised Calvert Communications that we would be on scene momentarily. Upon arrival, Engine 74 pulled an attack line and laddered Squad 7. Both occupants had been removed from the vehicle upon our arrival. It was then determined that 1 subject would be flown due to mechanism. Engine 74 was tasked with handling the landing site. Engine 74 remained on scene until 1440 hours assisting with clean up and blocking traffic. We returned to quarters at 1500 hours.
On behalf of the Officers and Members of the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department, we wish both Members of St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad a speedy recovery.
