| On Friday March 3, Hollywood Volunteers were enjoying a nice relaxing evening at the Fire House, telling stories and watching tv. At 2044 hours, Fireboard alerted Stations 9(Bay District) and 7(Hollywood) for a Chimney Fire at 44522 White Pine Court, in Wildewood. Engine 73, under the command of Lieutenant S. Raley responded immediately with 5. Truck 7 responded a few minutes later, with 5 and the Fire Chief, D. Brady, Sr. At 2049 hours Engine 73 advised they were on the scene, side alpha with a two story residence, nothing evident and had layed out from the cul de sac. Lt. Raley advised Engine 92 to pick it up and reverse lay to the hydrant. Upon further investigation the Engine Crew found a small fire in the chimney. Firefighters from Engine 73 laddered the roof, dropped chimney bombs, and then chained the chimney. Truck 7 arrived on scene moments later, and Fire Chief Brady assumed the Command. The crew from Engine 92 checked the attic for extension, while the crew from the Truck 7 assisted with removal of smoke from the inside. Units operated on the scene for about a half an hour, before wrapping things up and returning to service. Hollywood units were back at Station 7 at 2152 hours. |
