Fire Alarm Leads To Working House Fire In Charlotte Hall

Just prior to midnight, Station 2 and Charles Station 2 were dispatched to the 30000 block of Gershwin Road in Charlotte Hall for the Fire Alarm. As units were marking up responding, St. Mary's Communications received updated information for a House Fire at the same location. The Box was filled out adding Truck 7 and Rescue Squad 7 to the assignment. Truck 7 and Rescue Squad 7 responded shortly after dispatch with 10 Volunteers. First arriving Companies found a 2 story single family home with fire showing from the 1st and 2nd floors. Tanker 74 was added to the assignment and responded with 4 additional Volunteers at dispatch. Truck 7 arrived on the scene and positioned on Side A of the house. The crew deployed multiple ground ladders then assisted fire attack with opening up. Rescue Squad 7 arrived on the scene, positioned out of the way, with the crew assisting with search and secured the utilities. Tanker 74 arrived on the scene and assisted with Water Supply with the crew performing overhaul. The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes of arrival. The assignment was scaled back to the Units from Station 2, Charles Station 2, and Truck 7 to complete overhaul. All Units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 0230 hours. Chief 2 (Trowbridge) held the Command and the State FM Office is investigating the fire.
