House Fire with One Trapped in Lusby

At 1001 hours Engine 9 and Tanker 7 were dispatched to 10963 Poplar Drive in Lusby for the House Fire with one trapped. Tanker 74 responded at dispatch with 6 Volunteers on the incident.

First arriving units from Calvert County reported a one story single family dwelling with fire showing through the roof. Crews made a stretch and located one victim who had severe burns and smoke inhalation. Crews located fire in the kitchen area that had extended into the attic and several other rooms. Tanker 74 arrived with the crew stretching an additional attack line through side "A". The crew located fire in the center and rear of the home and worked with crews from Calvert County to extinguish the same. Engine 73 responded with an additional 4 personnel(on the Working Fire Dispatch) and were utilized for overhaul. Tanker 74 assisted with water supply operating a Tanker Shuttle while Engine 73 provided a draft from a folding tank as the supply pumper.

Crews remained on the scene assisting with overhaul and hitting hot spots before returning to service. The units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 1355 hours.

One patient was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital and the fire is under investigation.
