First Due Chimney Fire

At 1805 hours Engine 7, Engine 9, Engine 83, Tanker 9, Tanker 3, Tanker 83, Truck 7, Truck 3, and Rescue Squad 1 were dispatched to 24007 Mervell Dean Road in Hollywood for the Chimney Fire. Engine 72, Truck 7, Tanker 74, Chief 7, Chief 7B, and Command 7 all responded shortly after dispatch with 20 Volunteers on the incident.

Engine 72 was first to arrive find a two story single family home with fire showing from the chimney. Truck 7 was next to arrive taking position on Side "A" of the structure. The crew of Engine 72 advanced an attack line to the structure while the Truck crew laddered the roof and chimney. Crews found a small fire behind the insert of the fire box along with fire in the chimney. All fire was extinguished and the assignment was scaled back to the units from Station 7 and returned the rest.

The units from Hollywood operated on the scene for approximately 30 minutes before returning to service. The units returned to quarters at 1906 hours.
