Engine and Tanker to Lusby House Fire

At 0952 hours Engine 9(3rd Due), Engine 7(4th Due), Tanker 7(2nd Due), Tanker 3(3rd Due), and Rescue Squad 3(2nd Due) were dispatched, Mutual Aid to Calvert County, at 12442 Dalton Trail in Lusby for the House Fire. Engine 73, Tanker 74, Chief 7A, and Chief 7B responded with 8 Volunteers shortly after dispatched to the incident.

First arriving units found a 2 story single family home with fire showing from the attached garage with extension to the 2nd floor and attic of the house. Engine 73 and Tanker 74 arrived on location and immediately went to work on the 2nd floor. The crew stretched an attack line along with bringing hooks to open up. The crew found moderate fire conditions on the second floor and the attic, extinguishing the same. The fire was placed under control within 45 minutes and units remained on the scene assisting with overhaul.

The Units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 1210 hours. The cause of the fire was accidental as a result of improperly discarded embers from the fireplace.
