Rescue Squad Runs Extrication in Leonardtown

At 1334 hours Station 1, EMS Station 19, and EMS Station 79 were dispatched to the 23700 Block of Hollywood Road in Leonardtown for a Motor Vehicle Accident. Prior to units arriving on location the assignment was upgraded to reports of people trapped, adding Rescue Squad 7 and St. Mary's ALS. Rescue Squad 7 responded immediately after dispatch with 4 Volunteers.

Rescue Squad 1 was first to arrive finding a 2 vehicle collision with a small passenger car having serious damage to the rear and passengers side. Rescue Squad 7 arrived shortly after and the crews from Rescue Squad 1 and 7 went to work to free the trapped occupant of the car. Chief 7 was assigned the "Rescue Group Supervisor" and the extrication was completed within 10 minutes of arrival.

One patient was transported by Ambulance 197 to MedStar St. Mary's Hospital as a Priority 2. Rescue Squad 7 picked up and returned to quarters at 1403 hours.
