At 0024 hours St. Mary's County Communications Center received a 911 call at 23771 Mill Pond Road in Hollywood for the reported House On Fire. The caller stated that there was a fire in the bedroom, flames were visible, and everyone was evacuating the residence. At that time Communications dispatched the assignment which consisted of Engine 7, Truck 7, Engine 9, Squad 3, Tanker 93, Tanker 33, Calvert County Tanker 3, Calvert County Engine 3, Water Supply 5, EMS Station 79, and 38. Chief 7 was first to mark up on the incident as Communications advised him that it would possibly be a working incident. Engine 73 and Truck 7 ran the incident with a total of 8 volunteers as Chief 7 arrived at 0032 hours reporting a single family dwelling on a basement with fire showing from the "D" Delta side of the structure, in the Charlie Quadrant. Tanker 93 who was the first unit on Mill Pond proceeded down the driveway to a split where Engine 73 was able to get by and act as the Attack Pumper at that point. Engine 73, with S/O Insley as the attack group supervisor advanced a 200 foot 1 3/4" handline to the seat of the fire as the crew from Tanker 93 provided a back up line inside the structure. Squad 3 was the first arriving special service and was tasked as the Vent Group supervisor, while also performing primary searches with assistance from the crew of Truck 7. Within 15 minutes of the incident, units had a good knock on the fire and were beginning to conduct overhaul operations. Units from Hollywood operated on the scene for approx. 2 hours before returning to quarters. Fire Chief 7 held the Mill Pond Road Command.
