Auto Fire Upgraded to Structure Fire in Leonardtown

At 1153 hours Station 1 was dispatched to 22050 Marantha Way in Leonardtown for the Auto Fire. A short time later, Safety Officer 19 arrived to find an auto well involved with and exposure to a House. At this time the assignment was upgraded to a House Fire adding Engine 7 and 9, Tanker 7 and 5, Truck 1, and Rescue Squad 5 to the call.

Engine 72, Tanker 74, and Chief 7 responded with 8 Volunteers shortly after dispatch. Engine 11 arrived on the scene to find an auto well involved with exposure to an attached garage. The crew from Engine 11 knocked the fire down on the auto and started to protect the exposure as Engine 72 arrived. The crew from Engine 72 assisted with checking for extension and performing overhaul.

The assignment was scaled back to Engine 11 and Engine 72 with the remaining units returning to service. Engine 72 remained on the scene for 15 minutes before returning to service. Units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 1314 hours.
