At 0610 hours St. Mary's Communication dispatched a reported Garage Fire at 26472 Loveville Road in Oakville. Engine's 7, 2, and 9, Tanker's 2, 1, and 9, Truck 7 and Rescue Squad 1 were alerted to the call. Engine 72, Engine 73, Tanker 74, Truck 7, Chief 7 and Chief 7B responded on the call with 15 Volunteers.

While responding Communications advised of numerous calls reporting a Large 3 Car Garage and a smaller 2 Car Garage both detached and on fire. With this information and a "Header" showing from a ways out, Chief 7 requested 3 additional Tankers added to the call bringing Tanker 5, Tanker 1002, and Tanker 33 to the call. Chief 7 was first to arrive at 0618 hours reporting a 30X70 detached Garage fully involved with extension into a 30X50 Garage and established the "Oakville" Command. Companies arrived on location and went to work stretching 2 lines with one protecting the exposure and cutting off the fire and the second line starting to knock the bulk of the main garage. The bulk of the fire was knocked down within 30 minutes of the Companies arrival and Command held all units for hot spots and overhaul.

The assignment was scaled back to the units from Station 7 to assist the Fire Marshal and to complete overhaul. The fire was deemed accidental from an auto fire inside the garage. Chief 7 held the Command and Chief 7B was assigned the "Attack" Group Supervisor. No injuries were reported and all Station 7 units returned to quarters at 0903 hours.
