Motor Vehicle Accident with a Slope Evac

At 1224 hours Station 7, EMS Station 79, and EMS Station 38 were dispatched to the parking lot of St. Johns Pharmacy at 24288 Three Notch Road for a Motor Vehicle Accident. Rescue Squad 7 and Chief 7 responded at dispatch with 5 Volunteers.

Chief 7 was first to arrive finding a single vehicle approximately 50 feet down an embankment with one patient in the vehicle. Chief 7 established the "Hollywood Command" as Rescue Squad 7 arrived on the scene. The crew from the Rescue Squad evaluated one patient and determined this to be a slope evacuation. Command requested an additional Engine Company be added to the call and Station 9 was dispatched at 1235 hours. Engine 72 and Engine 73 responded as additional manpower with a total of 9 Volunteers coming to the scene. The crews from Rescue Squad 7 and Engine 73 set up a 3:1 system to to safely bring the patient up the embankment. The members from Hollywood and Bay District utilized the hauling system and turned over the patient to EMS personnel on the scene. The total Rescue Operations took 25 minutes to complete and Command was terminated.

The patient was evaluated and signed a refusal. Units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 1302 hours.
