Tanker and Truck Respond to Barn Fire in Mechanicsville

At 1700 hours, Stations 2, Charles 2, 7, Truck 7, Water Supply 5 and EMS Station 29 were alerted to 28110 Mechanicsville Road for the reported barn on fire.

Chief 2 arrived confirming a working structure fire, advised it would initially be a defensive attack and established the "Mechanicsville Road Command". Engine 24 arrived and dropped their 4" LDH supply line from Mechanicsville Road and positioned in the driveway past the scene. Truck 7 and Engine 74 arrived with Truck 7 positioning on the Alpha Bravo side of the structure and Engine 74 picking up Engine 24’s supply line. The crews from Engine 74 and Truck 7 work together with assisting crews on the scene opening up the structure and extinguishing the fire. Chief 7B was assigned the “Attack” Group Supervisor. Crews worked numerous hand lines to extinguish all visible fire and then started overhaul.

At 1743 Command placed the fire under control and held the units from Stations 2, 7, 1, Water supply 5 and the ambulance for overhaul. The units from Hollywood remained on the scene until released by Command and returned to quarters at 1824 hours.
