At 2213 hours Station 9 and Station 7 were dispatched mutual aid to Calvert County at 12139 Preston Drive for the reported Garage Fire. Engine 72 and Engine 74 responded shortly after dispatch with 9 Volunteers. Additional Companies from St. Mary's were dispatched a short time later for the working fire dispatch bringing Station 3 and Station 1 on the call.

First arriving units from St. Leonard and Solomons found a one story single family home with fire showing from a one car detached garage and extension into the house. Engine 72 and Engine 74 arrived minutes after and the crews went to work performing fire attack and opening up for the attack lines. During the incident a crew from Engine 91 became disoriented in the house and a Mayday was declared. One firefighter was able to remove his self and the crew of Engine 72 assisted the second firefighter out of the structure. Members from Hollywood operated on the scene performing multiple task including fire attack, ventilation, and overhaul. Hoarding conditions were found though out the structure making the extinguishment of this fire difficult on the Companies.

Engine 72 and Engine 74 cleared the scene and returned to quarters at 0106. One of the members from Engine 91 was transported to Med Star St. Mary's Hospital for evaluation. We wish both Members from BDVFD a speedy recovery.

The fire is under investigation and the Companies continue to respond for rekindles inside this structure due to the hoarding conditions.
