Pumper Tanker Assists on Coltons Point Garage Fire

At 2352 hours Station 5, Station 1, Station 2, Station 7, and EMS Station 59 were dispatched to 38180 Beach Drive in Coltons Point for the Garage Fire. Engine 74 responded shortly after dispatch with 5 Volunteers.

Chief 5 was first to arrive at 2358 hours reporting a 2 car detached garage fully involved with extension to a 1 story single family house. The first arriving Engine stretched an attack line to protect the structure and extinguish all the fire on the interior and exterior of the house. Additional units arrived, including Engine 74, and worked together to extinguish the fire in the garage and performed overhaul to both the house and garage.

The fire was placed under control within 30 minutes of dispatch and Command held all units on the scene. Engine 74 remained on the scene until 0105 hours before returning to service. The fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal's Office and Chief 5 held the "Coltons Point Command". One occupant of the home was transported to SMH for evaluation.
