One Trapped at North Sandgates Road

At 0622 Station 7, Station 2, EMS Station 79, EMS Station 29, and St. Mary's ALS were dispatched to the intersection of Three Notch Road and North Sandgates Road in Oakville for a Motor Vehicle Accident with one person trapped. Chief 7, Chief 7A, Rescue Squad 7, and Engine 72 responded on the incident with 12 Volunteers.

Chief 7 was first to arrive advising of a two vehicle T-Bone style collision with one trapped. Rescue Squad 7 and Rescue Squad 2 arrived simultaneously and both went to work stabilizing the vehicles and preparing for extrication. The crews worked a short time to free the trapped driver and completed the extrication within 10 minutes of arrival.

Both patients were transported by EMS to the hospital by Ambulance 796 and Ambulance 389. Units remained on the scene a short time removing hazards and securing the scene. Rescue Squad 7 and Engine 72 cleared the scene at 0700 hours and returned to quarters.

Chief 7 held the Command and Chief 7A was assigned the "Extrication Group Supervisor".
