June 18, 2014

This year Hollywood Volunteers placed in several categories in the parade and took home several awards.

Hollywood Volunteers entered in the parade with Jeep 7, Engine 72, Junior Fire Chief, and a Marching Unit. Also the department placed in several Fire Prevention Classes from our Fire Prevention Committee. Once again this year the Department took home the 2nd Best Overall in the State with our brothers from Easton VFD taking home the top award.

Since 2010 HVFD has received 2nd Best Overall in the State every year except in 2012 when we took the Best Overall in the State and Easton took 2nd Best Overall. This was the first time the Best Overall was given to any Company on the Western Side of the Chesapeake Bay.

The Following Awards were won:

2nd Best Overall in the State
1st Place Junior Fire Chief (Anthony Gardiner)
2nd Best Marching Unit 10 or More Personnel
3rd Best Engine 1250 gpm (Engine 72)
1st Place Class 4 Fire Prevention Year Round Award
1st Place Class 4 Fire Prevention Special Project (Vacations for Vets. event)
5th Place Overall for Fire Prevention in the State

Congratulation to all the Hollywood Volunteers who took place in all the events and to the Fire Prevention Committee with another big year.

Also Congratulations goes out to Leonardtown VFD Member Jared Trossbach who received the State Firefighter of the Year Award.

Great job to all the departments in Southern Maryland and to Easton VFD on another win.
