Engine and Tanker Back to Leonardtown House for Basement Fire

At 1408 hours Station 1, Station 7, Station 5, Station 9, Station 2, EMS Station 19 and EMS Station 79 were dispatched to 40784 Lake and Breton Drive in Leonardtown for the Basement Fire. Engine 73, Engine 74, and Chief 7 responded on the incident with 8 Volunteers.

Units from Leonardtown arrived on the scene of a one story single family house with smoke in the basement. Engine 73 arrived on location and advanced an attack line into the basement finding smoke conditions throughout. Units operating inside the structure located a fire that had burned itself out in a room in the basement. Crews checked for extension and opened up the area of the fire finding all fire out and contained to one room in the basement. The fire was believed to be electrical in nature and burned the wall in the room. Command held units from Station 1 and 7 to perform ventilation and complete overhaul.

The State Fire Marshall was called to the scene due to this being the second fire at this house in one week. Units from Station 7 returned to service after picking up and returned to quarters at 1529 hours.
