Rescue Squad on Great Mills House Fire

At 2157 hours Station 3, Station 9, Station 6, Station 1, EMS Station 39, and EMS Station 38 were dispatched to the 21000 Blk. of Great Mills Road for the reported Structure Fire. Soon after dispatch, Chief 3 requested Station 13 and Rescue Squad 7 be added to the run. Rescue Squad 7 and Chief 7B responded on the incident with 5 Volunteers.

Units from Station 3 arrived on location reporting an abandon house that was "Fully Involved". Chief 3 arrived and Command was established, advising of a defensive attack and utilizing the Ladder Pipe to knock the bulk of the fire. Rescue Squad 7 arrived on the scene and gathered for an assignment. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down with the large lines and ladder pipe, Command put the units to work knocking hot spots and gaining access to any hidden fire. Within a half hour Command scaled the assignment back to units from Station 3, Station 9, Station 13, and Rescue Squad 7 to remain on the scene and perform overhaul.

Rescue Squad 7 remained on the scene for over a hour assisting units on the fire ground. Rescue Squad 7 cleared the scene at 2333 hours and responded on a home fire alarm before returning to quarters.

The State Fire Marshall is investigating the incident at this time.
