Collision Sends One to the Trauma Center in Hollywood

At 1502 hours Station 1, Rescue Squad 7, EMS Station 19, and EMS Station 79 were dispatched to the area of St. John's Road and Brown Road in the 1-06 Box Area for a Motor Vehicle Accident. Rescue Squad 7 responded on the incident with 6 Volunteers shortly after dispatch.

Maryland State Police arrived on the scene advising the accident was at 43095 St. John's Road putting it in the 7-11 Box Area. Rescue Squad 7 arrived on the scene to find a single vehicle that struck a tree with all occupants out of the vehicle. The Officer of Rescue Squad 7 quickly scaled the assignment back to the Rescue Squad and 1 Ambulance for transport. The single patient was evaluated by EMS personnel and determined to be a Trauma Patient. The crew of Rescue Squad 7 assisted with packaging of the patient and removed hazards at the scene.

Ambulance 198 transported the patient to St. Mary's Airport to transfer care to MSP Trooper 7. Trooper 7 transported the patient to Prince Georges Trauma Center as a Category "C" Priority 2 Trauma.

Rescue Squad 7 cleared the scene and returned to quarters at 1536 hours.
