Wednesday morning the units from Hollywood headed to Ocean City, MD for the annual Maryland State Firemen's Convention and Parade. Once again this year HVFD had numerous members on hand to march in the parade along with two Fire Prevention units, Command 7, Car 7, and Engine 72. Also following right behind the HVFD units was Danielle Sullivan as the Southern Maryland Jr. Miss Fire Prevention Queen. After the parade the awards were given out for the best in parade. Hollywood VFD brought home several awards this year including for the second year in a row, 2nd Best Company in Parade. Other Awards for HVFD: 2nd Best Appearing Marching unit
Also during the convention Rose Davis was inducted into the MSFA Hall of Fame. Rose is currently the Assistant Treasurer and a Life Member of the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Congratulations to our neighbors to the north, Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad for winning Best Ambulance in Parade. Also Congratulations to Bay District for winning Honorable Mentions for their 1500 gpm Pumper and for Truck 3 for winning best Aerial in Parade. Keep up the good work showing Maryland why St. Mary's County is full of Pride in their Fire and Rescue Services. |
