Jan. 17 At 15:48 hrs Engine 73 was dispatched to the 43900 block of commerce ave in Hollywood for a vehicle fire.

Chief 7A was first to arrive on scene finding approximately 20 autos well off in a large pile behind a used auto part facility, and immediately requested to fill the box.
Engine 73 and Chief 7B and Safety 7 arrived and Engine 73 deployed 2 attack lines and began protecting exposures and extinguishing the fire.
Rescue engine 92 and Truck 7 arrived and Rescue engine 92 picked up engine 73s supply line and deployed a 3rd attack line to back up engine 73, while truck 7 set up the ladder pipe and prepared for master stream operations.

Units from Company 1,2,3 and Calvert co. 3 were deployed to Sandy Bottom Rd to make access to the rear of the facility for fire attack.
Shortly after, a second alarm and a crash truck from NAS Patuxent River were requested due to the fire rapidly spreading, accelerated by the large amount of flammable liquids that were being expelled from all of the vehicles.

All units worked for approximately 5 hours before the fire was completely extinguished and the scene was turned over to the Maryland State Fire Marshall’s office and the property owner.
