Hollywood VFD Responds To Second Fire Of The Evening

At approximately 2215 hours Thursday, 6 April 2023, Tanker 7 was requested to transfer to the quarters of LaPlata Station 1 while they operated on a two alarm house fire on the west side of Charles County. Tanker 74 responded with 4 Volunteers shortly after dispatch. While heading to Station 1, Tanker 74 was re-directed to the Tenth District Fire Station 8. While at Station 8, a second Box Alarm dropped in the 6200 block of Goode Road in Hughesville for the reported House Fire. Tanker 74 responded at dispatch. First arriving units found a two story single family home with smoke showing. Tanker 74 arrived and assisted with water supply while the crew deployed an attack line to side A. The crew then deployed to the 1st floor an assisted with fire attack and opening up. A Mayday was declared after several Members fell through a hole and into the basement area. The Mayday was resolved quickly and several firefighters were evaluated by EMS. Tanker 74 remained on the scene for an hour before being released back to Hollywood. Several firefighters reported minor injuries during this incident. No Hollywood Members were injured during this incident.
