Hollywood VFD Responds To Two Working Structural Fires In 24 Hours

At approximately 0040 hours Wednesday, 21 December 2022, Truck 7 and Rescue Squad 7 were dispatched to the 29600 block of Donna Drive for the House Fire. Truck 7, Rescue Squad 7, Chief 7 (Rogers) and Chief 7A (Rector) responded with 15 Volunteers on the run. First arriving units from Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department, INC. found a one story single family home with an attached garage with fire throughout. The Units from Station 7 arrived and went to work assisting with fire attack and opening up. Chief 7A (Rector) was assigned the Water Supply Group Supervisor with Chief 7 (Rogers) assisting with crews inside. The fire was brought under control in approximately 40 minutes. All occupants escaped the structure, uninjured, prior to the Fire Departments arrival. The units from Station 7 remained on the scene for an hour and a half before returning to service. Chief 2A (J. Raley) held the Command and the fire is being investigated by Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal.

This is the 2nd night in a row the Hollywood Volunteers responded to a house fire. At approximately 0300 on December 20th, Engine 7 and Tanker 7 were dispatched to a House Fire in the 16100 block of Bradburn Lane in Ridge. Engine 72 and Tanker 74 responded with 9 Volunteers shortly after dispatch. Units from Ridge Volunteer Fire Department found a one story single family home with fire showing. The crews from Hollywood assisted with Fire attack and operated for over an hour. Tanker 74 handled the Fill in at Station 4 once released from the scene. Chief 4 (Cooper) held the Ridge Command.
