Hollywood VFD Responds To Two Vehicle Motor Vehicle Collision With Entrapment

At approximately 2010 hours, Station 7 was dispatched to the intersection of Three Notch Road and Loveville Road for a Motor Vehicle Collision. Rescue Squad 7, Engine 73, and Chief 7A (Rector) responded shortly after dispatch with 10 Volunteers. While responding, the assignment was upgraded to one trapped adding Rescue Squad 2 and ALS to the call. Units from Hollywood arrived on the scene to find a two vehicle collision with one trapped. The crews went to work, stabilizing the vehicles and utilizing the HURST Jaws of Life to extricate the trapped occupant. The patients were evaluated by EMS and it was determined two patients would need to be transported to a Trauma Center. Maryland State Police - Aviation Command was alerted for transport and Engine 72 responded with 4 additional Volunteers to handle the Landing Zone. The extrication was completed within 20 minutes of dispatch and the patients were turned over to EMS. MSP Trooper 7 transported both patients to the Trauma Center for further evaluation. The Units from Station 7 picked and returned to quarters at 2105 hours. Chief 7A (Rector) held the Hollywood Command with Captain 7 handling the Extrication Group Supervisor.
