Hollywood VFD Responds To Occupant Pinned Under Forklift

At approximately 1320 hours Station 7 was dispatched to the 41100 block of Oakville Road for the reports of a person pinned under an overturned forklift. Rescue Squad 7, Engine 73, Chief 7(Rogers) and Chief 7B (Tatum) responded with 11 Volunteers shortly after dispatch. Units arrived on the scene and confirmed one occupant pinned under a forklift. Crews from Rescue Squad 7, Rescue Squad 1, and Engine 73 worked to free the patient utilizing the air bags. Crews used the winch and cribbing to stabilize the forklift while it was raised off the patient. The patient was extricated in approximately 20 minutes and turned over to EMS care. The patient was transported by MSP Aviation Trooper 7 to a Trauma Center. Engine 224 handled the Landing Zone at Oakville Elementary. The units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 1408 hours. Chief 7 (Rogers) held the Command with Chief 7B (Tatum) as the Extrication Group Supervisor.
