Hollywood VFD Responds To Reported Serious MVA In The First-Due

At approximately 1545 hours Monday, 23. May 2022, Station 7 was dispatched to the 27100 block of South Sandgates Road for the reported collision with one trapped. Rescue Squad 7, Engine 73, and Chief 7A Rector) responded with 10 Volunteers shortly after dispatch. Chief 7A (Rector) arrived on the scene to find a single vehicle into a Boat and Tree with one occupant trapped. Rescue Squad 7 and Engine 73 arrived on the scene and went to work stabilizing the vehicle to extricate the trapped occupant. While the crews were finishing up stabilizing the vehicle, the occupant became combative. Members of the St. Mary's Sheriff's Office and Maryland State Police assisted Fire and Rescue to remove the occupant out of the vehicle. The occupant was turned over to EMS who requested the patient be transported to a Trauma center. Tanker 74 responded to handle the landing zone for Trooper 7 at the Oakville Elementary School. The patient was transported by Maryland State Police - Aviation Command Trooper 7 to the Trauma Center. The Units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 1632 hours. Chief 7A (Rector) held the Sandgates Command.
