By Past Chief Charles Miedzinski (CP)
November 13, 2021

At approximately 2130 hours Friday, 12 November 2021, Station 7 was alerted to the 26500 block of Loveville Road for the building fire. Engine 72, Truck 7, Tanker 74, Rescue Squad 7, Safety 7 (Insley), Chief 7 (Brady) and Chief 7B (Rector) responded shortly after dispatch with 20 Volunteers. Chief 7B (Rector) arrived on location to find a 40x75 building with fire showing from side B and smoke throughout. Engine 72 arrived next with the crew stretching a 2" attack line through side A. Truck 7 arrived and started opening up the building so the Engine Company could gain access to the fire. Crews found the bulk of the fire in the Alpha and Bravo quadrant of the building and started making an attack. While crews were performing the initial fire attack, a partial collapse of the roof occurred and an evacuation was ordered. Crews were able to regroup and make a second push on the fire and knocked down the bulk of the fire with 20 minutes. Tanker 74 arrived and assisted in water supply while Rescue Squad 7 assisted with searches and opening up. The fire was placed under control in 40 minutes and the assignment was scaled back. Crews remained on the scene for several hours assisting the State FM's and performing overhaul. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and there were no reports of injuries. The units from Station 7 returned to quarters just prior to midnight. Chief 7B (Rector) held the Loveville Road Command.
