Hollywood VFD Responds To Scrapyard Fire In California

***Scrap Yard Fire in California***

At approximately 0905 hours 27 July 2021, Tanker 7 and Engine 7 were dispatched to fill the assignment in the 44400 block of St. Andrews Church Road in California for the large outside fire. Engine 73, Tanker 74, Chief 7 (Brady) and Safety 7 (Insley) responded with 10 Volunteers. First arriving units found a large pile of debris on fire in a scrap yard with multiple exposures of additional piles. Chief 7 (Brady) arrived on location and assumed Command. Tanker 74 arrived and assisted with water supply and a Tanker shuttle. Engine 73 arrived and the crew assisted with fire attack. Additional resources were requested adding St. Mary's Hazmat, NDW Pax River Hazmat, and NDW Foam/Crash 13 to the assignment. The fire was deemed under control after numerous large lines were deployed including wagon pipes, ladder pipes, and the Crash truck from 13 at 1041 hours. The units from Station 7 remained on the scene hitting hot spots until they returned to service at 1122 hours. Tanker 74 was utilized to shuttle 8 loads of water totalling 16,000 gallons of water. Chief 7 (Brady) held the California Command.
