At approximately 2240 hours 24 May 2021, Engine 7 was dispatched Mutual Aid to Calvert County, in the 13800 block of HG Truman Road for the Building Fire. Engine 73 and Chief 7 (Brady) responded with 7 Volunteers shortly after dispatch. First arriving units from Solomons found a one story strip mall with fire showing through the roof. A 2nd alarm was immediately transmitted adding Truck 7 to the run. Truck 7 responded at dispatch with 6 additional Volunteers. Engine 73 arrived on the scene, laying a supply line, and advancing an attack line to the rear of the building. Chief 7 (Brady) was assigned Division Charlie and worked to contain the fire with units assigned. Truck 7 position on side Charlie and immediately set up for heavy duty operation. An exterior attack was used with multiple wagon and ladder pipes operating. Units operated for several hours to bring the fire under control. Several of the businesses in the strip were destroyed during the fire and the State Fire Marshal's Office was requested. The Units from Hollywood remained on the scene assisting with hitting hot spot and performing overhaul before returning to quarters at 0430 hours.
