Just prior to 1400 hours Thursday, 25 March 2021, Station 7 was dispatched to the Blackstone Marina on Marina Way in Hollywood for the reported Boat on Fire at the Marina. Engine 73, Tanker 74, Truck 7, and Chief 7 (Brady) responded on the Box with 12 Volunteers shortly after dispatch. Chief 7 (Brady) arrived on location to find a 20ft center console boat that was fully involved and away from the dock. Chief 7 (Brady) established the Command and scaled the assignment back to the units from Station 7, Boat 4, Boat 6, and 1 EMS unit. The fire was extinguished utilizing a long line from Engine 73 onto the pier to reach the fire. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked, the boat was towed back to the marina to complete extinguishment. The fire was placed under control within 15 minutes and the units picked up and returned to service. Chief 7 (Brady) turned the scene over to Maryland NRP to handle the investigation and scene. The units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 1516 hours.
