Hollywood VFD Responds To Working Structure Fire In St. Clements Shores

At approximately 0435 hours Friday, 19 February 2021, while crews were operating on the Building Fire in Station 5's (Avenue) first due, a second Box was sounded for the House On Fire at Potomac Ave. and Gore St. in the St. Clements Shores area. Truck 7 and Tanker 74 had just cleared the first fire and responded on the run with 6 Volunteers. Calvert Engine 31(Transferred to Station 7), Rescue Squad 7 and Chief 7A (Rogers) responded with an additional 4 Volunteers from Station 7. Captain 7 (Tatum) was first to arrive finding a 2 story single family home with fire showing from all 4 sides of the structure and established command. Truck 7 arrived on location and took position on side A and set up for ladder pipe operations. Tanker 74 staged while water supply was established at a draft site near by. Rescue Squad 7 arrived on location and both the Truck and Squad crews assisted with fire attack and opening up. Chief 7A (Rogers) was assigned the "Attack" Group Supervisor. A partial collapse occurred while units were operating on the scene and a defensive attack was performed to knock the bulk of the fire down. Crews remained on the scene for several hours assisting with fire attack and performing overhaul. The units from Station 7 cleared the scene and returned to quarters at 0824 hours. Chief 1B (Trossbach) held the command and no injuries were reported.
