Rescue Squad 7 Responds to Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident in Callaway

At approximately 0602 hours on Wednesday 12 August 2020, Rescue Squad 7 was dispatched to the 20400 block of Piney Point Road for a Motor Vehicle Accident with subjects trapped. Rescue Squad 7 and Chief 7B (Rector) responded shortly after dispatch with six (6) Volunteers. First arriving units from 2nd District VFD&RS (Valley Lee), arrived to find a two vehicle collision with one trapped and one pinned. Rescue Squad 7 arrived on the scene and went to work with Engine 32 (Bay District VFD), assisting with the extrication. The crews removed doors, the roof, and pushed the dash to free the trapped and pinned occupants. Both patients were turned over to EMS and transported by MSP Aviation to a Trauma Center. Rescue Squad 7 place all equipment back in operational order and returned to service. One of the patients transported to the Trauma Center was later pronounced deceased. Chief 6A (Henderson) held the Piney Point Road Command.
