Fire Prevention Reminder!

The membership at the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department would like to remind our community to remain safe throughout the winter months. The Office of the State Fire Marshall put out a news release on January 11, 2019 stating that there have been 6 fire fatalities across the state of Maryland. The majority of those homes DID NOT HAVE WORKING SMOKE ALARMS. State Fire Marshall Brian S. Geraci would like to remind the public “Fire and life safety is everyone’s responsibility; by testing smoke alarms and CO detectors, keeping exits clear of obstructions, and maintaining fire alarms and fire sprinkler systems, we can all avoid injury or death from the effects of fire”.

Please remember to check your smoke alarms!
