At 1718 hours Station 2, Station 22, Charles Station 2, Charles Station 5, Station 7, Water Supply 5, EMS Station 29 and Charles EMS Station 2 were dispatched to 28795 Three Notch Rd for the report of smoke coming from the house. Engine 74, Truck 7, and Chief 7A (Insley) responded with 11 volunteers on the run. Engine 224 arrived on the scene at 1727 hours reporting a 2 story single family with smoke showing. Truck 7 arrived shortly after taking position on side "D" of the structure. The crew threw ground ladders and assisted the Engine companies inside by opening up. Engine 74 arrived next and assisted with water supply while the crew stretched a back up line to the structure. The fire was found on the first floor of the structure and was knocked down quickly by the interior crews. Once the fire was under control, Command held Station 2, 22, Charles Station 2 and Truck 7 and returned the rest of the assignment. Truck 7 remained on the scene for one hour before returning to quarters. Chief 2A (Emmart) held the Three Notch Road Command and Chief 2B (Barnes) was operations. The fire is believed to be started by and overturned kerosene heater on the first floor.
