At 1336 hours Station 7, Station 1, EMS Station 79, EMS Station 19 and the Medic unit were dispatched to Vista Rd and Ferguson Ln for a Motor Vehicle Accident with a report of people trapped. Rescue Squad 7 and Engine 73 responded with 10 volunteers to the call. Rescue Squad 7 arrived on the scene at 1341 hours to find a single truck, head on into a tree with the passenger trapped in the vehicle. The crew went to work stabilizing the vehicle and were advised from MSP that the patient had a weak pulse and was severely pinned. The crew utilized the Hurst Spreaders, Cutters, and Rams along with numerous other extrication equipment and went to work on the pinned occupant. Within minutes the passengers side door was removed to find that the occupant was pinned by the dash and the seat. Rescue Squad 1 arrived and the two crews worked together to remove the roof of the Truck. Engine 73 set up the Landing site for Trooper 7 to transport the driver of the vehicle. After working for approximately 30 minutes the medics on the scene pronounced the patient Priority 4 after consulting the Hospital. Command released all the units with the exception of Rescue Squad 7. After the Police had finished there investigation the crew from the Rescue Squad finished the extrication and remove the patient from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was transported by Trooper 7 to PG Hospital as a Trauma. Rescue Squad 7 cleared the scene at 1632 hours and returned to quarters. Captain Brady was the incident commander and MSP is handling the investigation.

The Officers and Members send their condolences to the family and friends of this tragedy.
