By Firefighting Deputy Chief Billy Hill
January 23, 2007

On Tuesday, January 23rd Hollywood Volunteers were conducting their weekly drill when the station was alerted at 2006hrs for a house fire at 23523 Pine View Ln. Units were quickly on the street and fireboard advised Chief 7B (Hill) that they were taking numerous calls with fire through the roof, and they had a correct address of 44591 Reeder Sanders Ln. 7B advised to add the working fire dispatch. At 2009hrs. Chief 7B arrived on location of a single story, single family wood frame structure with fire showing through the roof on side bravo. Chief 7(Brady) arrived just after the size-up and established command assigning Chief 7B operations. When the 360 walk around was completed Engine 74 arrived and stretched an 1 3/4" attack line and knocked fire on the porch down so the structure could be entered on side bravo. Truck 7 arrived and started ventilation operations on all four sides and throwing ladders to the roof. The crew from the Truck 7 cut a vent hole in the roof as the fire was spreading through the attic. Engine 73, Engine 91, Engine 33, Rescue Squad 7 all arrived a short time after and assisted crews with secondary searches and overhaul. Command advised fire extinguished at 2025hrs holding all units. Cause of the fire is determined to be electrical in nature, by the State Fire Marshals Office. Company 7 staffed Engine 72 at the station so no fill in crew was required. Units cleared the scene at 2240hrs.
