By Hollywood Volunteers
April 5, 2016

At 0626 hours Engine 1, Engine 7, and Truck 1 were dispatched to 22679 Cedar Lane Court for the Shed Fire. Prior to units responding, the assignment was upgraded to a House Fire adding Engine 9, Engine 6, Truck 7, and Rescue Squad 6. Engine 72, Truck 7, and Chief 7B responded shortly after dispatch with 9 Volunteers on the call.

Engine 11 was first to arrive finding fire showing from the rear of a single family home. After further investigation crews found a large shed fully involved with extension into an attached deck and a one story single family home. Engine 72 arrived on location with the Engine Officer establishing the Command and the crew stretching an attack line for fire attack. Truck 7 arrived with Chief 7B assuming the Command and the Engine Officer being assigned the "Attack Group" Supervisor. With the crew of Engine 72 engaged in fire attack, the crew of Truck 7 entered the House and started opening up for Engine 61 to extinguish the rest of the fire in the House.

Within 30 minutes the bulk of the fire was knocked down and Command held all units, checking for extension. Units remained on the scene performing overhaul before the assignment was scaled back to units from Station 1, Station 7, and Station 5.

The units from Station 7 remained on the scene until Command was terminated and returned to quarters at 0937 hours.

Command - Chief 7B
Fire Attack - Engine 72 OIC
Exposure - Lieutenant 7
Rapid Intervention Group - Captain 5

Engine 72 cleared the fire ground and responded to a reported Auto Fire with Tanker 74 from quarters. Crews found a fire out and returned to service a short time later.
