At 1520 hours Engine 2, Charles Engine 1002, Engine 7, Engine 5, Truck 7, Rescue Squad 2, EMS Station 29, and Charles EMS Station 1002 were dispatched to the area of Carpenter Drive and Zane Court for the report of smoke coming from a House. Engine 73, Truck 7, and Chief 7B responded at dispatch with 9 Volunteers to the call, leaving a third crew in quarters.

Engine 21 and Chief 2 arrived on location with a corrected location on Zane Court to find a two story single family residence with fire showing from side "Delta" of the structure. Chief 2 established the Command while the crew from Engine 21 advanced an attack line to the residence to find fire in the attic area. Engine 73 and Truck 7 arrived on location with both crews assigned to check for extension on the exterior of the "Delta" side of the structure.

Command scaled the assignment back to the Units from Station 2, Charles Station 2, and Station 7 and reported the fire was out and units were performing overhaul. Engine 73 and Truck 7 remained on the scene for approximately 30 minutes checking for extension and performing overhaul functions before returning back to quarters at 1651 hours.
