February 12, 2016

At 1930 hours Engine 7, Truck 7, Tanker 14, Engine 1, Tanker 93, Engine 9, Tanker 2, Squad 2, Water Supply 5, and EMS Stations 79 and 19 were alerted to 42523 Keith Court for the House Fire. Engine 72, Engine 73, Tanker 74, Truck 7, Rescue Squad 7, Chief 7 and Chief 7B responded on the incident with 20 Volunteers.

Communications advised incoming units that the attached garage to the residence was on fire and they were receiving multiple calls. Captain 7 arrived on the scene first reporting a working fire in a single family dwelling, with Chief 7B arriving just after establishing the "Keith Court" Command. Engine 73 arrived next laying a supply line in from McIntosh Road and stretching a 1 3/4" attack line through Side A. Engine 73 operated with Truck 7 and Squad 2 and located a well advanced fire in the attached garage with extension into the attic area and the Charlie and Delta quadrant of the residence. Personnel quickly advanced attack lines to the "Delta" side of the structure and made a push towards the garage. While operating in the structure, crews found a family pet inside and brought the animal to Side Alpha for EMS to provide oxygen. Rescue Squad 7 assisted with searches and opening up. Engine 74 arrived and supplied Engine 73 and dropped the folding tank for Tanker Shuttle Operations while Engine 72 arrived on the scene and took over the supply pumper responsibilities. The fire was cut off before reaching the majority of the house and held at the garage and 2 rooms. Members operated on several lines and were able to drop the ceiling fast to knock down all visible fire in the garage and attic area.

Units operated on the scene for approx. 3 hours before returning to service. The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is handling the investigation.

We would like to thank Brian Brown from www.scanmd.org for providing the Members operating with Hot Pizza. Thanks again for what you do!!!
