February 23, 2015

At 1218 hours Station 9 and Station 7 were dispatched to 370 Red Cloud Road for the reported House Fire with a person trapped. Engine 72, Engine 74, and Chief 7A responded at dispatch with 7 Volunteers on the run. While units were responding the assignment was upgraded to a Working House Fire adding Station 3 and Station 1 to the call.

PG Chief 829 was first to arrive finding a two story single family residence with smoke showing. Moments later Chief 829 advised everyone was out the the residence and they had a working fire in the rear of the house. Engine 72 arrived as the third arriving Engine and laid a secondary supply line from the hydrant. The crew advanced an attack line to the structure and Chief 7A was assigned the "Interior" Supervisor. The bulk of the fire was knocked within minutes with the first attack line however fire was found in the attic area of the structure. Crews from Calvert Station 3, Station 9, Station 7, and Calvert Station 2 operated on the inside of the structure dropping all the ceiling to gain access to the fire in the attic. Command held Solomons Engine 3, Engine 91, Engine 72, and Prince Frederick Engine 2 to remain on the scene for overhaul.

Engine 72 remained on the scene assisting with overhaul before picking up and returning to quarters at 1342 hours.
