By Hollywood Volunteers
January 14, 2015

With snow and ice coating the roads and grass, the Company has ran several calls for service. The Station has been fully staffed and has responded with numerous apparatus on the calls.

At 0922 hours, as Engine 72 and Engine 74 were responding to a report of smoke in a house in Solomons, St. Mary's Communications alerted Station 7, Station 1, Station 9, Station 2, and Station 3 to 25464 Jones Wharf Road for the reported Apartment Fire. With this being the second call for Station 7, Station 9, and Station 3 and extra Engine was added to the call. Engine 73, Truck 7, and Chief 7A responded shortly after dispatch on the incident with 8 Volunteers.

Engine 73 was first to arrive at 0926 hours finding a 1 story duplex style apartment building with nothing evident. The crew advanced a hand line to the apartment and found and odor of smoke in the residence. Truck 7 and Engine 33 arrived next and both units assisted with the investigation. Engine 72 and Engine 74 responded on the incident once they cleared the Solomons Box with an additional 9 Volunteers. The crews operating on the interior found a fire that was out and contained to the Fuse panel of the Apartment. The crews checked for extension around the panel and in the attic with none found. The assignment was scaled back to Engine 72 and Truck 7 and the rest of the assignment was returned.

Chief 7A held the "Jones Wharf Road Command" and all units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 1111 hours.

This was the fourth call for the Hollywood Volunteers for the morning. The Station also ran 2 Motor Vehicle Accidents and the reported smoke in the house in Solomons.

Units: Engine 72, Engine 73, Engine 74, Engine 14, Engine 91, Engine 23, Engine 33, Truck 7, Truck 1, Rescue Squad 2, and Chief 7A
